Introducing Prince
Foundervine started in 2018 as a small group of founders that shared a passion for entrepreneurship and technology. This community has become an important place for founders to connect, learn, grow, and collaborate with each other.
And as such we wanted to introduce you to members of our team so you can get to know who we are, what we do, and how we can help you on your journey.
So what’s your name and what’s your role at Foundervine?
My name is Prince Newman, I am a Project Coordinator at Foundervine.
What motivated you to join Foundervine?
I believe the global diversity gap remains in peril. This is visible in different parts of our lives, like business, design, fashion, and technology. Because I really like coming up with new ideas, I was interested in how Foundervine is trying to fix this issue in starting and growing businesses. Being part of Foundervine lets me be a part of a group that cares about making things fair for everyone and believes in the positive changes that equal opportunities can bring to society.
When you are not with Foundervine, what do you do?
Outside of my role at Foundervine, I love to read and write. Reading beautiful African literature from the likes of Chimamanda Adichie, Chinua Achebe, Ngugi W’athiongo, as well as works by Maria Popova, is central to my pleasures. I am also quite fascinated by new technologies, creative and design works that tell a story, and connecting with the people behind them to exchange ideas and collaborate on projects that align with my passion.
Any side hustles? What are the key things you want the Foundervine Community to know about you?
I am involved in a few things that allow me to channel my innovative spirit. These interests range from community building in the business and design ecosystem to personal initiatives that reflect my diverse interests. I believe in the strength of community and leveraging various ‘people power’ to bring about positive change. I’m excited to be part of the Foundervine Community!
What’s your plan for the next 5 years?
Looking ahead, I want to deepen my impact within Foundervine and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem. I want to push the African agenda, do more hard things that push me to be better and provide the best value for others. I want to meet with a lot of amazing people, experience different cultures, and build fruitful relationships.
